Hi, I'm Edgar, a co-founder and head drone pilot for Drone Memorials.

What We Do

Drone Memorials provides thoughtfully planned aerial ash scattering memorials across Canada

Our role is simple:

  • We handle the planning, coordination, and logistics
  • We access locations others cannot
  • We carry out each memorial with care, dignity, and respect

Reaching Places That Matter

Many families come to us because the place they want to honour is no longer accessible due to age, health, or mobility. In some cases, the land may be rugged and difficult.

When needed, we will:

  • Hike to remote or hard-to-reach launch locations where vehicles cannot access
  • Use our 4X4 for places street vehicles are not able to drive
  • Transport and handle ashes securely and with care throughout the process
  • Arrange hand dispersal of ashes when appropriate for the location or conditions

Even if they can’t physically reach a place anymore, their loved one still can. We'll make sure they do.

How the Memorial Works

Every memorial with Drone Memorials follows a clear, thoughtful standard process, designed to ensure the experience is calm, respectful, and well-coordinated. Families do not need to plan or create a ceremony themselves.

At the same time, each memorial can be personalized to reflect the person or pet being honoured.

If you wish, we can include preferences such as:

  • A moment of silence or reflection

  • Playing meaningful music

  • Final words or a short speech

  • Personal or cultural requests

Families attending in person  may also choose to personally release the ashes at the appropriate moment, guided the Memorial Coordinator.

All details — including location, timing, attendance, and any personal elements — are discussed during their consultation.

Clients can be as involved or hands-off as they prefer. Once we understand their wishes, we carry out the memorial so that everything unfolds smoothly and with care.

The only limitations are requests that would compromise safety or flight regulations. Everything else is guided by what feels meaningful to them.

Who We Serve

We work with:

  • Elderly individuals honouring a spouse, lifelong partner, sibling, or other close family member or friend
  • Families arranging a memorial for a parent, grandparent, sibling, or loved one
  • Families who want a unique, memorable good-bye
  • Pet owners who consider their animals part of the family

About Us

We are a Canadian born & raised, family-run service.

Drone Memorials is led by a married team who have been together for over a decade and are raising a growing family — currently a family of three, with another child on the way.

Both founders are experienced entrepreneurs who continue to run other businesses.

Edgar actively serves in the Canadian military and works within his unit’s drone program.

We're also a proud member of the Funeral Services Association of Canada (FSAC) as part of our commitment to high standards.

Why Choose Drone Memorials?

Every memorial choice has its considerations. What matters most is choosing an option that feels thoughtful, practical, and right for your family.

When families work with Drone Memorials, we take the physical, logistical, and planning burden off their shoulders — so they can focus on remembrance..

Drone Memorials

  • Ashes are dispersed by our team, ensuring families are not exposed to ash blowback during the memorial.
  • Ashes are dispersed evenly by our team — whether by drone or by hand — to avoid accumulation in a single spot.
  • Enables access to remote or difficult-to-reach locations by foot, 4×4, or air
  • We handle all planning and coordination, including location review and logistics
  • Offers a thoughtful and memorable farewell centered on meaningful places

Hand Scattering (By Yourself)

  • Ashes may blow back toward the person scattering them
  • It can be difficult to disperse ashes evenly, especially over larger areas
  • Some meaningful locations are hard or impossible to reach, particularly for those with mobility limitations
  • Planning and coordination are often left entirely to the family, which can add stress during an already emotional time

You are fully protected by our 100% Service Delivery-Guarantee. If we are unable to deliver a memorial service due to circumstances within our control, clients will receive a full refund.
